One of the beautiful features of End Grain is that its rustic charm and elegance only improves over time as natural movement and variations occurs within the timber as it settles in to its new environment.
We can construct end grain worktops to practically any shape or size, in a whole variety of patterns. And of course with all the usual cut outs and bespoke elements you would expect. End grains worktops are technically challenging, and far from simple. We condition timber specially for end grains, and then re-condition each end grain strip before gluing into a block or worktop. We also re-sand every element before gluing to ensure the strongest joins possible. With the large exposed cross sectional area of end grain, some movement is to be expected no matter how much we seek to minimise this through our meticulous process. But of course that individualism is what end grain is all about. Every end grain is a unique expression at the very heart of man's affinity with timber.
