Super Stave Ash Worktops

Full, single stave Ash worktops with wide, long planks. Very much the Rolls-Royce of Ash worktops! Super stave worktops have become something of a Norfolk Oak signature. Continuous, wide planks of timber running the whole length of your wooden worktop, really showing off the beautiful grain patterns of our furniture grade American Ash.

Thicknesses available: 40mm.

As standard, our Ash worktops will arrive square edged, sanded smooth and ready to oil, however we offer many bespoke customisations; such as sink and hob cut-outs, worktop edging and rounded corners.

AMERICAN ASH FRAXINUS AMERICANA

American Ash is one of many types of Ash tree, most commonly grown in the eastern parts of the USA. Not to be confused with European Ash, American Ash has a warm yellow glow that is much lighter than our Oak worktops, creating a pleasant and airy atmosphere in your kitchen.

The American Ash maintains good strength, is exceedingly hard and is very durable. The American Ash is known for its strength as it's a very tall but very slender tree. The American Ash has adapted over centuries to hold itself tall despite the size of its trunk.

The grain posses smooth gracious lines that span the length of the worktop that contrast each other making the pattern more prominent. The overall appearance will give your kitchen a soft, gentle touch perfect for a kitchen in need of lots of light.

SUSTAINABLY SOURCED

Our Ash comes from the very heart of this region. Our timber suppliers are members of the Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers Inc. (AHMI), so our Ash is certified as sustainable. In fact, this is not really the full story. The AHMI members are responsible for adding six billion board feet annually (one board foot is measured as 12 inches long, 12 inches wide and 1 inch thick). This is a net addition after annually harvesting 2 billion board feet. A new growth rate of 3:1 - hardly just sustainable!

Installation Oiling
If you would like the reassurance of us pre-oiling your ash worktops, we can do so with our installation oiling service. Your ash worktops will then arrive ready for you to install as soon as you receive them. Read more about our Installation Oiling Service.

Nano Coating
Nano-coating is a 2 Part Process. The first application consists of 2 separate coatings, which are designed to react and bind with the timber. This treatment alone is not enough to protect timber but when combined with the second application, it protects the initial coat and forms a barrier against soap and alcohol etc. This second coating is water/scratch resistant, the daily wear and tear from sticky and wet glasses will prove the resilience of our nano coating.

White Wash
A popular traditional wood finishing effect, whitewash worktops add a wonderfully rustic style to your kitchen. Depending on what finish you choose, our whitewash can be applied during pre-installation oiling or with our advanced nano-coating treatment.
