Norfolk Oak designs and manufactures solid hardwood doors, both interior and exterior, to an uncommon standard.  Mostly made from solid American White Oak, though being bespoke they can be made in any sustainable North American hardwood.  A Norfolk Oak door is the most stunning finish to a house.  A standard size door made with solid Oak usually weighs in at around forty kilos; nothing can ever replace the feeling of a heavy door.  With the right fittings and furniture a Norfolk Oak door will open and close beautifully for generations.

All of our wooden doors are made with matched tenons and cannot be pre-assembled dry as they are so tight it would be almost impossible to pull apart again.  We use a special expanding polyurethane glue which  requires special frame clamping so the finished door is so strong it is quite remarkable.

Norfolk Oak also manufactures the matching architraving and door frames as required.  As with all of our bespoke joinery, these can be to your individual design, no matter how complex.  We have our own blade cutter so we can cut any shape profile for any architectural molding, incorporating any design feature you like.  This also means we can match any design you may already have but cannot find ‘on the shelf’.
